Who are these people, anyway?

So here's the deal:
We are a group of first time moms with things to say. I started this site when my son was 6 months old, and I've had friends join me in contributing along the way. We talk about the different stages of development our kids go through and how that impacts us. What we aren't interested in doing is making our kids and husbands into unwitting internet stars. As such, I go by Dakota, and no, it's not my real name. SunShoe, Keebs 28 and J's Mama are my current partners in crime. I'm sure you mommies and daddies or soon-to-bes or glad-you're-nots can understand our desire to protect our families. With that said, enjoy the candidness with which we discuss our lives as new moms and moms-to-be!

Dakota Lind:
Loves ridiculous humor, a hot bath, sticking it to the man, getting straight A's, Giants baseball, Sierra Nevada beer, certain physical activities, her family and her friends. She does not enjoy mean people, foie gras, the Dodgers, or being cold and wet at the same time. She currently resides in an undisclosed location with her black-belted, Eagle Scouted husband, her fiercely adorable son, and two small dogs.

SunShoe:
I am a mom, I am also a wife.  I am a boss at work, I can also be bossy at home.  I love licorice, I am a sweet freak.  My guilty pleasure - Teen Mom the TV show, I don't know why but I must watch.  I love my husband, my son, my dog, my job (sometimes), running, reading, massages, music and candy (all the time)  There isn't much I don't enjoy.  I try to see the upside of every "down" situation, look very hard, it's there :)

Keebs28:
I'm in the process of developing a little one. A welcoming committee is being prepared for March. These are a few of my favorite things: my husband, our dogs: Ptolemy and Zelda, the number 28, the color turquoise, traveling, classic rock, Jane Austen, and spending time with people I love. Things I'm good at: being awesome on a daily basis, expanding young minds (I'm a professor, I have to be good at that, right?!?!), and carrying the torch for short people worldwide. Things I enjoyed in my former life that I can no longer enjoy because the little one objects: Dt. Dr. Pepper, Wine, Cereal, and some forms of meat. Things I'm bad at: hiding my emotions, being serious, and doing housework.

J's Mama:
Pre-baby I met hubby 10 1/2 years ago, got a B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing, and a minor in art. I wrote for local magazines - mainly reviewing restaurants, as well as Internet publications, before going back to my early roots of working with people with disabilities. I am first and foremost a stay-at-home mama and wife who can't get enough of her son. Lovin' travels, music, baking, wine, and pretty much justenjoying life near the coast with my two men.
